Programme Objective:

To provide support and guidance to young people struggling with their mental health. To provide support for young people with behavioural issues, family setbacks, and young people who struggle to make secure attachments.

Programme Duration:

6 weeks, consisting of 6 sessions, each lasting 45 minutes.

Programme Outline:

Session 1: Introduction and Building Rapport

- Welcome and introduction to the program

- Establishing a safe and supportive environment

- Icebreaker activities to encourage group cohesion and trust-building

- Sharing expectations and goals for the program

- Discussing confidentiality and boundaries

Session 2: Understanding Mental Health 

- Identifying common mental health issues among young people

- Exploring the impact of mental health on daily life and relationships

- Strategies for recognising and managing mental health challenges

- Encouraging open discussion and sharing personal experiences

- Introducing self-care practices and coping mechanisms

Session 3: Behaviour Management Strategies

- Understanding the underlying reasons for challenging behaviours

- Exploring effective behaviour management techniques

- Developing self-awareness and self-regulation skills

- Identifying triggers and implementing coping strategies

- Role-playing and practicing positive behaviour responses

Session 4: Family Dynamics and Communication

- Discussing the impact of family issues on mental health and behaviour

- Exploring various family dynamics and their effects

- Promoting healthy communication strategies within the family

- Addressing conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

- Providing resources for family support and counselling if needed

Session 5: Attachment and Relationships

- Understanding attachment theory and its influence on relationships

- Exploring different attachment styles and their implications

- Building healthy relationships and boundaries

- Recognising signs of unhealthy relationships and seeking help

- Encouraging empathy and understanding in interpersonal connections

Session 6: Reflection and Future Planning

- Reflecting on the progress made during the program

- Celebrating individual achievements and growth

- Identifying further areas of growth and improvement

- Setting personal goals for the future

- Providing resources and referrals for ongoing support
